First, let me say that there's no need to get worked up over another person's opinions on web browsers. It's a WEB BROWSER. What they use and what they don't use doesn't hurt you in any way.
With that said, here are my general thoughts:
Internet Explorer 8 - much better than previous versions (and that's not saying much...) but it feels a bit slow and the interface just sucks. I don't like the fact that somewhere around a tenth of the height of my screen is just dedicated to toolbars.
Firefox 3.6 - wonderful customization, but it would be better in my book if it didn't need add-ons to change some of the annoyances. Vanilla Firefox is somewhat slow, and Adblock makes it even worse for me (as the page loads initially with ads, then there's a slight delay, and then the ads disappear). Noscript is a great idea, but I don't feel like taking the time to build a whitelist. Firebug / FirePHP are wonderful tools and have made my life as a web programmer much easier. All in all, Firefox's strength isn't in the browser itself, it's in the community that creates great themes and add-ons to improve on the browser's downfalls and add great extra functionality.
Chrome 3 - the absolute best thing, to me, is the speed. I've read that others have problems with Chrome slowly loading pages, but for me it's significantly better than any other browser. Both my desktop and my laptop are running SSDs, so that may have something to do with it. The interface is also great - very simplistic, but functional and without extra frills. Tabs where the title bar "should be" to save space? Brilliant. Some pages do still fail to load properly in Chrome (Weather.com's 10 day forecast, for example), which sucks.
Opera - I haven't used it in years (and even then only for a short time) so I can't comment.
Safari for Windows - I used this for a very short period of time simply for testing. It was alright, but nothing spectacular. I hate how Apple tries to sneak in iTunes and Quicktime every chance they get, which really turned me off to all of their software (and even hardware). Maybe they've changed that since, but it still leaves a sour taste in my mouth.
My primary browser choice is Chrome. I use Firefox for productivity, and Internet Explorer only for compatibility testing.
