Firefox: How to make it install Add-on updates without asking?

My FF3 install and my mom's both will pop up a window when updates are found. It's confusing for my mom, and I see why.
Two buttons appear: Install and Install Updates.
One installs the stuff that was just found. The other pops up a window that's asking the user to find the update files.

I remember which one to click; she doesn't.

Is there some way to make it simply install the updates without asking anything at all?
Fun part: Options -> Advanced -> Update tab.
"When updates to Firefox are found:
Ask me what I want to do
Automatically download and install the update
--Warn me if this will disable any of my add-ons"

Sounds like enabling the "Automatically..." option should do it, right? Nope.
It still always asks permission to install Add-on updates (if there are any) when Firefox is starting.

If the update dialogs are bothering your mom that much, why don't you just disable them? You could manually update Firefox yourself and your Mom should be much happier.

Jeff7 mentions that he remembers which button to click, so doesn't that mean he and his mom use the same system ? I don't see how it would be an inconvenience to him then.

I set Firefox to ask me what to do when it finds an update. Perhaps in Jeff7's case he could just disable the option "Warn me if this will disable any of my add-ons" ? ( This is just a random suggestion and I've not verified what it does myself)

I'm 350 miles away, so that'd be a problem.

350 miles away is indeed a problem. Ok, let's approach the problem in a different manner. Suppose that you disable the default firefox automatic updates for addons and themes ? That way when the update button appears, it should have just one choice, i.e. "Install".

And for the addons and themes perhaps you could use this,
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/2098

It's an addon that looks for update to your themes and addons. It will sit in the toolbar as color icon, depending on if you need to update or not.
