Firefox Google Search?

Is there any way that I can have the Google search built into firefox search google.ca/linux instead of google.ca?

Enter about:config in the address bar. Modify the "browser.search.defaulturl" entry to the appropriate url.

You can make a Firefox quicksearch bookmark.

Make a new bookmark with the following properties:

Name: whatever you want to call it

Location: http://google.ca/linux?q=%s

keyword: any keyword you'd like. For my google I use g so when I want to search google I type g "search term" in the address bar just like Opera

description: blank or make a description for your bookmark

Some notes for making other quicksearch bookmarks %s gets substituted with whatever follows your keyword. So you can make searches for lots of sites.

ie:

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obi...rnal-search?keyword=%s
http://a9.com/%s

check out the searchplugins directory somewhere within the firefox install. Hack that a bit and you can make it do whatever you want
