I hate you for making me use Chrome.

Stop being slow and having unexplainable problems with Flash.

I also wish I knew wtf my username/password were on here that I didn't use for a few years straight when I went off the grid for a while. :(

Don't know why everyone has so many problems with Firefox. Haven't had it crash in a long time.

It doesn't actually 'crash' that often, but it will randomly hang... for about forever. This almost always involves Flash.

It can't be solely the fault of Flash though because I've never experienced this with Chrome.

Seems to happen in FF 4/5/6/7/8, too. Their developers keep pretending this doesn't exist or it's the fault of something else with the OS, etc.

If that's the case... why do other browsers work fine? Opera and Chrome don't give me any of these issues.

I very seldom have issues. Firefox has been the most reliable for me. Chromium is crashier, and Opera has more rendering issues. I like Opera for it's speed in retrieving pages.

I used to get those firefox flash video crashes all the time on my i5 ThinkPad. Now I'm back on a Core 2 Duo ThinkPad and it doesn't happen.

Doesn't happen to me. Fix your pc or get a better one.

Good logic there buddy.

If it's the PC, why is Firefox the only browser with issues?

(Other than IE, but that's not really a browser)

Happens on a fresh install with zero extensions.

You really think I haven't tried the most basic troubleshooting? I've dealt with several people on their dev team and tried every single suggestion they've given to no avail. The browser is bloated and has issues.

Maybe these issues don't always occur for everyone, but they happen to a large enough chunk of the population that it's obviously on their end.

Chrome does hang with Flash *very* occasionally for me too, I suppose, but not anywhere near as often as Firefox does.

Flash is definitely part of the problem too. Actually, Adobe doesn't have a great track record with this sort of thing... look at Acrobat/Adobe Reader compared to some of the alternatives for PDF viewing. It's a bloated POS.

No problems here, and I routinely have over 100 tabs open.

I stopped using FF right before they went nuts and copied google's update scheme.

Using chrome now almost exclusively, and I don't miss firefox.

I didn't have much trouble with Firefox when I used it, but I tried Chrome and liked it a lot more, so I went with it.

Weird. I rarely ever have problems with FF. Usually I have problems with IE and Chrome and Opera. Of which I have to design webpages for all of them. My only problem with FF is the lack of easily integrated Kerberos.

I try to keep it to 20 / 30 tabs but I've never had a problem either. I just wish FF never changed their release schedule.

I don't think I've had a problem with FF since version 2.

I'm on beta 8 right now.. still no probs, even with forcing compatibility of old extensions.

I think the whole rapid release thing is pretty dumb, though.

What version are you using? I'm still on 3.6.xx and I have absolutely ZERO issues.

So I assume you went to 4.x or higher. Why would you go to whatever version if you have issues? 3.6 is still fully supported and updated regularly. So go back to whatever version you had no issues with

Yeah, I like opera too...however, i have the same issue. some sites render weird and on sites with text boxes, the input boxes do not show up.

I actually have way more problems with chrome these days. Sometimes it won't play netflix fullscreen, works fine on firefox. Sometimes it inexplicably gets godawful slow, taking 4-5 seconds to register any input. The only solution is to restart my computer. No such problems with firefox. Actually, I'm thinking about switching back. The thing is when it does work, chrome is awesome.

I'm more intrigued by why someone would have 20-30 or even 100 tabs open. How do you know what is where? I have enough trouble keeping up with 5 or 6. :)
