Firefox - find as you type bug

I'm loving the "find as you type" feature of FF, but it's buggy as hell. Sometimes it would decide not to work at all - it would auto-open the find box at the bottom but never goto the word actually present on the page. I'd have to close the browser instance completely and re-open it for it to work again. Do you guys notice this ? Has happened with the last few versions.

Overall the search feature of Firefox, be it through find as you type, or just the ole fashion ctrl-f, sucks.
Seems like it doesn't like working with tables and such.

It has been working fine for me so far. The only problem now on Deer Park is that when I type something (after clicking on an empty portion of the page), the caret ends up on the location bar right as I try to type in the second key. I have to restart the browser for it to work again. It looks like it has been fixed in Deer Park Alpha 2 though

I never had any issues with it. I'm using firefox 1.0.4. It seems to just work for me every time.

I did have an issue though where as I was typing in forums it would randomly pop up and start searching, but a few reboots cured that.

I once had a problem where typing a ' character in a text box would start a search but that somehow fixed itself. Other than that, there have been no problems here.

I've had enough... it's pissing me off... enough that I actually took 2 minutes to make a screenshot. Failed on every word I tried on that particular page. This is v1.0.6 now.

Now where is the FF bug report page so I can see if this is already reported ?

I haven't had too many issues with it not finding text--I just hate it when it decides to activate while filling a form. Normally, when you fill in a form, it works fine, but sometimes when you begin typing in the form, it activates find as you type, which is really irritating. A close/restart fixes it.

WFM in Mozilla 1.7.10 . I rarely use it though.

Did you notice the window title bar is also mislabeled? It should say Gamespot which is your current tab, not Anandtech. You know, IE has a lot of holes due to ActiveX, but Microsoft is very capable in terms of keeping bugs at bay. Which is why I still use it. :D

Yeah, that's an annoying bug. I can fix it by using tab or shift-tab to get to the field I want to. It usually doesn't have problems after that.

Might I add, it only happens on the trunk version.

you guys named the other 2 bugs I've mentioned in previous FF bug threads. Those are my top 3 for sure.

Have you considered checking bugzilla and filing bugs if that isn't filed? FWIW, I notice none of those "top 3" bugs in SeaMonkey 1.0a nightly.
