Firefox Extensions Issues

I opened up FF yesterday and ads began popping up, I also noticed that my ABP button was gone. I reinstalled it but ads were still popping up, so I had to manually subscribe to Easy List to get it working (my ABP button is still missing from the toolbar.)

Secondly my mouse gestures stopped working. I have tried uninstalling the extension and reinstalling FF to no avail. I went into the options for Mouse Gestures and no gestures were listed, and it wouldn't let me record my own.

Any ideas as to how I can get these extensions working again, or information as to why they broke?

Setting a Software Restriction Policy in Windows would have a similar effect on my FF extensions. Doubt that's your problem, but just in case 😉

No I didn't do that. I did however have to replace a corrupt NTFS.SYS file that was causing multiple reboots. Maybe that was the culprit?

Perhaps both issues are signs of file system corruption or imminent hard drive failure.

Ugh, I don't like the sound of that. I did a chkdsk /r with no large errors. For my sake I hope you're not right.
