Firefox doesnt work right

Ok, so, when i copy and paste, or cut and paste, anywhere other than the start menu, the program does not execute. The reason is because the location shows not where it was LINKED from, but where its located, making it pretty much nothing. However, there is no way i can change the location parameters, most places it doesnt even show up. Thanks guys. Any ideas?

Not really sure what you're talking about here. You are talking about firefox, which is a web browser. You mention links, which I assume are URLs. You also mention file locations. Sounds like you maybe have some html links on your computer or desktop, but they show up with a file location instead of the actual web URL. Is that correct?

Kinda. Instead of showing the area the program is located to so it can execute, it shows the area that the shortcut is located, which does me no good. Basically, its not a shortcut of anything, just a picture i can click.

I have no idea what you're asking... what exactly are you trying to do?

*EDIT* BTW... Firefox questions in General Hardware???

That's because the "shortcut" in the start menu isn't a shortcut to Firefox... it's a shortcut to whatever the default web browser is. If you just use My Computer to navigate to where Firefox is installed and right click on the exe and chose send to desktop, it'll put a shortcut on your desktop.

What does the inability for you to make a shortcut has to do with Firefox not working right???😕

I cant park my car in the driveway correctly, the car must be defective....

No, it DOES work when i drag it over to the start menu and it pins itself to the start menu. Then it works. It also works if i go into program files and click on it there. other than that, no.

Ha, here are real problem with firefox:

1. Anytime I click on the address bar the program crashes and shuts down. As you can imagine -> very annoying.

2. Java pop-ups don't work -> if I want to post on Anand forums, I have to use IE

3. Close firefox, and I can't open it again because it isn't really closed. I would have to Ctrl-Alt-Del, open task manager-Processes, find firefox, and close it there.

I'm having all three problems, starting shortly after firefox auto-upgraded to v1.01 a few weeks ago. Although I suspect maybe I also picked up some virus/spyware or something and that might be messing it up. Been stuck using IE ever since. I guess I'll just have to reformat🙁
