all right... i think my question needs a new topic 😛

(i really do not know where the memory leak lies, but if i did, i wouldn't really be posting this question)
 
depends on the sites loaded. huge pic heavy whatever sites can really bog it down. i've had probably 30+ tabs open before..but 1gb ram helps. you should really upgrade to 1gb..512 isnt' enough for a power user. its so cheap now anyways. sometimes when i carelessly leave stuff open for weeks my usage goes pretty darn near1gb full commit charge. so even 1gb seems limiting sometimes heh
 
I left Firefox running on my 2nd computer the other day while I played Guild Wars on my 1st,(I use a KVM), after a few hours just sitting there Windows XP had to increase the swap file to a huge size and it took 10 minutes to shut Firefox down while XP madly accessed the hard drive trying to cope.

So I guess Firefox was using 1.5 gigabyte or more of memory after awhile.
