FireFox and Shockwave Flash

I recently reinstalled FireFox 1.5 and Macromedia Shockwave and Flash. However when running Firefox on my non-admin account in Windows pages with Flash or Shockwave don't load. Any suggestions on how to correct this? I've already uninstalled and reinstalled a few times to try to fix this.

Hey guys, RH71 I have been having a problem with Macromedia Flash, and Java, I went to the link and only got a yellow page, can you shed some light for me?

I can tell you that means no flash is installed at all.

Are you going here to install it ? http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflash/

What happens after that ? It should show you some quickie flash animation to show that it worked. I'm not sure what not having admin privileges would do for a flash install. IE installed ok with flash ?

Is it confirmed that Macromedia Flash works with FF 1.5, because I tried to install it, and it didn't allow me the first time, the second and third time, it went flawlessly, and then didn't load the test page both times.

^ Flash works with FF1.5 - I just tested it... but my flash plugin has been installed from prior FF versions.

Apparent there was something wrong with that particular user profile I was using. Tested it with another non admin account and it works.

There have been some problems with a few people concerning Firefox 1.5 and Flash 8. I, personally have the problem on my laptop. haven't updated anything else to flash 8 yet because of the problem. Gives "Illegal Operation" performed. Did a few reinstalls(of Firefox), wiped the profiles, reintsalled. Installed Flash 7 and upgraded to 8, installed 8 directly(seemed to actually work for a couple days when I did it that way), but in the end still broken.

A few Mac users are also having that issue(with Firefox and Flash 8, not sure about Safari or anything, haven't gotten my mac yet). http://ray.camdenfamily.com/index.cfm/2005/8/30/Flash-8-and-Firefox-Problems

That's a link to just one complaint. I thought I saw an actual article on it somewhere, can't seem to find it though. Hope this helps with anyone having similar problems with Flash and Firefox. Also, flash and IE work just fine for me(updated or using old versions).
