Firefox and Outlook 2003 client Gmail account

I searched the web and could not find an answer so hopefully someone here knows.
Gmail is set to send email via POP to my outlook client.

In a webpage in Firefox if I click on an email address it launches the web Gmail.
If I do the same in IE7 my outlook launches a new mail message (Outlook)

I want firefox to do the same.
The only thing I found in about options was firetool-mail:http://mail.google.com/mail/?view=cm&fs...=su&body=body&cc=cc&bcc=bcc&name=Gmail
Does anyone know the correct way to change this?

The entry in XP for URL MailTo Protocol is
"D:\PROGRA~1\MICROS~1\OFFICE11\OUTLOOK.EXE" -c IPM.Note /m "%1"

Any help would be appreciated.

I think that you have Google tool bar that redirects you to Gmail. Try setting IE as your default web browser, and set Outlook as your default e-mail client. Go to this website for more info:http://www.slipstick.com/problems/firefox.htm

cprince thanks for the reply. Yes I do have google toolbar installed on both FF and IE. I followed the directions from your link but I'm still having the problem even after a reboot.

Try removing google toolbar altogether.
