Firefox and greasemonkey cause my netbook to lockup

I just picked up a Dell Mini 12 netbook with ubuntu and Im having problems running Firefox with greasemonkey. Firefox runs no problem on its own but when I install greasemonkey it is guaranteed to crash after a few minutes. This was on ubuntu that came on the laptop, so I installed XP Pro to see if it would be any different, its not. Same thing happens, firefox is fine on its own, but once I install greasemonkey it crashes. I have never encountered a problem like this on any other computer, so it must be a problem between greasemonkey and the hardware on the netbook, maybe the GMA500 graphics chipset. Anyone else every had a problem like this?
