Firefox 7.0 doesn't work with DD-WRT!

I recently updated a Linksys/Cisco WRT160N v3 to DD-WRT. I originally used the firmware in the wiki that was listed, which was an older build. 13xxx. When it came time to configure the router, I wanted to test out client bridge mode, and when I went to Wireless Security, to select WPA-PSK, it immediately goes to /apply.cgi, and the screen turns white.

Thinking it was a problem with the firmware, I updated the firmware to a newer 148xx build, listed in the router database.

I had errors uploading the firmware with Firefox 7. I had to resort to IE8 on Win7.

After updating the firmware, same problem. Yet, with IE8, I had no issues.

Conclusion?

Firefox 7 is BROKEN.

I run DD-WRT on an Asus RT-N16.

Just tested your wireless changes with FF 7.0.1.

No problems here.

Client Bridge and regular router worked fine on FF7 using my Linksys WRT54GS. I use WPA-PSK with AES, no problems.

FF 7.01 works on my DD-WRT equipped router, too.

Which isn't to say FF 7 isn't a huge steaming pile of giraffe guano, because it is.

OMFG FIREFOX 7 is so broken beyond belief.

What the hell did they do..

If i keep the browser open for a long time.. like i am surfing on AT going though threads..
The Ram usage on the browser is absolutely rediculous.

really??? does a web explorer really need to use even 1/4 of that ram usage?

you think it stops there? no ive seen that number climb as high as 4gb b4 firefox lags to crap 4GB on a 32bit program... and crashes.

Really? does a web browser need more ram then adobe photoshop even with multi layers.

Haven't rebooted or even restarted FF in a couple of days, and FF is using about 215K, and only 45% of total RAM is used.

ff8 has been open with 10 tabs for days now too... 316k ram used. ff is just as fast as chrome with WAY better features. love ff!

I haven't seen anything like that so far, but AT's biggest memory muncher is this thread, and a few visits to it will eat up a lot, particularly with 100 posts per.

I do all those things and no problem here. Haven't restarted in a couple days, couple dozen tabs and under 600mb used, perfectly reasonable.

But i'll stop using it since you say it sucks...lol. Seriously, did u stop and wonder why it's just you and nobody else here?

OK then tell me what im doing wrong with firefox which is making it eat more ram then some of the most complex programs i run on my system even.

I never saw this problem on the older platforms as everyone so eloquently says.

Infact i think firefox7 is the only browser so far which can take resources that high to that level.
Meaning its not within program limits of the other browsers to go that high.

Still using Firefox 3.6.23, with the "Memory Restart" Firefox add-on installed.
Any time memory usage exceeds 500 mb, the lower right indicator turns red, and means that Firefox needs re-starting.
Newer Firefox versions don't work with the older Roboform version 6.10, which I prefer to the current Roboform version 7.57.

If I were you, I'd create a new profile and try running without any extensions. Something somewhere is corrupt.

Prior to v7, I had all sorts of memory-related problems. Since v7, they have all been resolved for me. Memory use is consistent, and actually comes out less than IE tab for tab. Also, when I close a tab in FF, I always get the memory back.

About 6 months ago, I switched over to running the Aurora betas, then about 3 months ago I went to the Nightly alphas. Over that 6 month period, I can count the number of crashes I've had on one hand (and every one involved video acceleration and the nVidia graphics driver). The Nightly versions (presently at 10.01a) may be alphas, but they have literally been the best quality alpha software releases I've ever used....
