Firefox 60 released

Nothing particularly worthy of note with this release AFAIK unless you're administrating group policies involving Firefox, but one thing that has seemingly gone awry / changed is the new tab page. With two about:config entries one could customise the number of rows and columns of what's now referred to as the 'top sites', but now one can only specify the number of rows (the columns are dictated by the page width by the looks of things).

Would you or someone be kind enough to point to how to get the new tab page to go back to recent pages only (vs the new look which only gives it a small portion of the page).

I think I know what you mean but I'm not certain. I have the new tab page configured to only show the search box and 'top sites' (configurable with the cog in the corner). If you don't pin stuff to 'top sites' then it should only show recent stuff. I can dig out the about:config entries if you want to customise the number of rows.

No problems here with 60.

Thanks! That took care of it.

Is anyone else having trouble with posting emoji's with YouTube posts with this? It's not acting right but if I load the same page using chrome it works just fine.😱

I found the problem and it has to do with a setting that it changed so what I have in bold is what it should be to work right. If this happens to you open a new tab and type about:config then find this setting and click on it and it will change its value.

dom.event.clipboardevents.enabled;false

Ooh, does the media.autoplay.enabled option work properly in Firefox now? I'm trying it again (as the last time I tried it must have been a year or more ago), and so far so good...

I recently updated to 60.0.2 (well, I didn't, it auto updated). And now I have a slight lag, whenever I open a new tab. I have 3d acceleration off, and I have done the "Prevent accessibility services from accessing your browser" fix, and it still does it. For like 2-3 seconds it will freeze.

It did NOT do this with Firefox 59

I don't have any issues with opening new tabs, however, I did a clean install last Sunday so no old settings to get in the way. Before that I was having lag issues with video playback.
