How do I install back the menu bar and icons? (file, tools, print, home, stop etc) I get really annoyed when product developers start "improving" the intuitive windows interface.

If you don't like how the menu bar looks on Vista/7 (with the grey cloudyness around the text) I would advise installing a Firefox persona.

Also, if you want the status bar back, I use the 'status-4-evar' add-on. There's also a menu editor add-on that you can use to reinstate the 'open in new tab/window' options to be the old way around if you prefer, which I did for a while but just bit the bullet in the end because I use FF4 on a number of machines.

i really wish there was a way to move the address bar to the bottom of the stack, there are only 2 options in FF AFAIK and they both suck. opera does it in such a better way

I use Opera and I've never been sick, never had a cavity. My life is perfect. With Opera I have homes all over the globe and supermodels blow me on my jet as I fly around the world from one vacation to the next! OPERA OPERA OPERA OPERA!

- sorry, the thread was not complete without it 😛

Not me. I use so many addons that need frequent tweaking. (no script, flash block, etc) need controls. Plus we are creatures of habit and it just nice to have things where you're used to them.

I have all of those buttons where I can at them quickly. I have tabs on top and the address and search windows below them with the buttons on either side of the windows, basically in the same places they were in FF3. I checked the "use small icons" option.

What I ended up with was two thin rows at the top that provide all of the functionality of a big, fat toolbar without taking up a third of the screen.

I agree, at least as far as the menu bar (they really should do like chrome, and refactor the UI to not need a menu bar). The status bar, as well, was not a broken feature.
