OK can't believe there is so much error in Firefox.
Did an update a few days ago and i have crash after crash !

Firefox 4 does have some minor glitches.

My open windows (next to the Start Button in XP) sometimes do not always show all the open browser windows, even though they are in fact, still open.

Sometimes, Firefox 4 resets the position of my buttons on the URL bar and reinstates the default Firefox search box, which I had told Google Toolbar to remove and replace with Google Search box. I am not sure if this is a Firefox issue or an issue with Google Toolbar Version 7.1.20101113Wb1

Once in a while, I shut Firefox from the X in upper right and yet in Taskmanager it is still running. Other than these minor bugs, it seems ok so far.

I've never had that happen, but don't use Google Toolbar, so I would guess that is the issue. I don't use Google as my default search engine either.

I like Google toolbar as it has the Translate feature, which can be handy at times. I also was able to add custom buttons for USPS, UPS & Fedex package tracking. Yes, they have app buttons that do all of them, but I prefer them as individual buttons. Most times though, you can just click a link in the email and the tracking site opens up. So it is not a must have item, but I do like it.

Sometimes it takes a little bit for it to completely shut down for me. Usually it shuts down on it's own though, but will show in the task manager for maybe 20-30 seconds. Does it stay running for minutes? Hours? Depending on how much RAM it's using when I shut it down it's usually done within 30 seconds at the longest.

Never timed it. I usually just stop the process when I see it there. Probably should just wait a minute or two and if it doesn't shut by then, then do it manually.

As many said before managed to fix some things in the computer.
After all it seems FF4 wasn't the problem. Although i have the impression it loads a little more "harder" than it's predecessors

Anybody getting crashes since the flash upgrade today? Haven't had a single crash since upgrading to FF4, but this morning it's crash about 5-6 times. Oddly though, I wasn't really using anything with flash (unless it was in added or something), and the whole browser crashed, not just the plugin container. The flash upgrade though is the only thing that's changed...

FF just updated to 4.0.1.

Edit: I meant to say, 4.0.1 beta. It seems that because I originally installed a FF4 beta edition, I've been put on the beta upgrade track, so that I auto-update to newer betas.

It says that to opt-out of beta, I have to download the final release of FF4.0 and install that instead.

Oh well, no worries, I like being on the beta track.

Have updated two computers and haven't had a crash, so no problems here.

I am very happy with Firefox 4, I have it installed on my windows 7 pc and windows xp pc. The thought of using ie 8 with windows xp was shocking although I found ie 9 to be okay for windows 7.

IIRC you'll only get the notification to update to 4.0.1 if you've been a beta tester since 4.0.1 more of a test build anyway.
Those who downloaded the final 4.0 installer from mozilla.com won't get the notification just yet.

thanks for changing the menu bar so drastically that my mom and dad had to call me because they couldn't figure out how to print anymore. same with IE removing menu bar by default, wtf!

Agreed. That and the status bar removal caused me to get calls from a handful of family members. 🙄

i think FF4 is awful compared to 3. Awful in that it's not FF4, it's just a FF3 improvement. It's all backend improvement but they change superficial looks to make it "new".

first of all if you download something, and close the browser (but it doesnt completely close because the download window is still up), and open it again, it doesnt open the homepage. it opens the last website visited. and the options of opening to the homepage doesnt do anything in this situation.

2nd of all, various files got compressed to the omni.jar using some nonstandard zip file so that decompressing omni.jar and changing the files desired and recompressing it back doesnt seem to work with winrar and various people online also complain that unzipping the omni.jar and zipping it after modifying some contents doesnt work or the browser doesnt take the change
