I use to like my weather on the status bar too but now have it on my Navigation Bar. Is Firefox Beta 7 really worth trying it because I fear most of my add-ons won't work. That is to be expected though I know.

Still sucks.

Ok, selecting addon bar gave me a bar at the bottom, but no page load indicator. I'm a bit less than thoroughly pissed now, but I don't see the need to dick with stuff that worked fine....

You can customize it even more, just play around with the userChrome.css file. Works fine in beta 7.

sweet, thanks, u can even change all the numbers to move them anywhere u like

Option>Toolbar Layout... there is an activity indicator icon, u can drag it to anywhere u like, better yet, during that menu, u can also drag all ur addon icons to the main tool bar and remove addon bar completely

My add-ons. I am currently just running Firefox 4 Beta 7 portable for now so I can at least test it and compare. Basically to get use to the new interface so I am not in for a shell shock when Firefox 4 Final comes out. That and I can keep track to see if all my add-ons get supported soon. That or maybe find alternatives if I have to.

do you have this installed? https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/15003/?src=discovery-pane i installed that and got most of my add ons to work

Yep. A lot of Greasemonkey scripts don't work in Firefox 4 yet although Greasemonkey dev build or beta does. It is just some of the scripts that give problems. Yes a good amount do.

CoolPreviews does not work at all.

Extension Manager SlimList does not work.

Filter Extensions does not work.

IMDB Ripper does not work.

Menu Editor does not work.

TabGroups Manager does not work if I don't want to use tab candy.

Plenty more.

Yep even less Greasemonkey scripts work on that unfortunately at the moment. I found out that even a new addon that is like Greasemonkey won't fix greasemonkey scripts that don't work with Firefox 4. Something the script itself has to be changed. If you ask me that sucks because I have a feeling a lot of the greasemonkey scripts will not be updated once Firefox 4 final comes out. Doesn't matter though if there is alternatives and usually there is. I don't have a problem with some scripts not working yet sense Firefox is still in Beta that is what a lot of the script developers are saying to when people ask for a Firefox 4 supported script.

you must run a lot of scripts!! all the ones i want work with scrptish.

Not really. 5 to 10 tops. Oh yeah another thing there is no Greasefire for Scriptish 🙁

By the way Greasemonkey dev build looks almost exactly like Scriptish except for a few things. I guess the only difference you could say is Scriptish is not beta and the new Greasemonkey is. Not sure if it can auto update scripts yet. I know there is a greasemonkey script for that though.

Sweet! glad that worked for you. this annoyed the hell out of me before!!

I only wish that my tabs I have marked as an app tab would reload when I launch the browser and not just go to the last page it was on. For example I have a forum listed and it would be nice to had the main page load instead of the last topic I was on. Oh well I am just happy it is keeping the tabs now.

Yeah your right. I bet there is a way to do this we just don't know how yet. Going to try and look into it more. Your reminding me of the add-on Perma-Tabs but that is just a add-on and will not work with Firefox 4 right now anyway either. Not exactly the same thing though but it is like it. I don't think it does it automatically either.

Tried turning on directwrites and direct2d after updating but fonts still look like ass. Sad that it seems like I'll never be able to use graphics acceleration with firefox.

I'm not sure that would be desired behavior for the intended use of the app tabs. Personally, I'd want it to load exactly where I left off to continue whatever work I was doing. If it went to the home page of the app every time, it would be virtually worthless.

That is true too. It depends on the person really.

I prefer my app tabs to always be on the main website. Like for example youtube always have the app tab on www.youtube.com no kind of video link or any other page. Basically I guess I could do that now because I just though of an idea. Why not lock all app tabs ? Wouldn't that work ? That way when you go to start searching on youtube.com or go to a video link it will open in a brand new tab that isn't a app tab. It all depends if you want to always keep the website your viewing in a apptab or not.
