barfo, weren't you having the fan spinning up to 100% problem with your video card with hardware acceleration enabled? did you try the new catalyst yet if so?

Yeah that was me. I disabled hardware acceleration and since it feels sufficiently snappy for me I havent bothered installing the latest Catalyst though I will eventually do so.

This link goes to a 404 page. FYI.

Is it me, or are they making it harder and harder to find the complete list of changes in each new version? it used to be after you updated it would take you to the mozilla page, and you could look at the release notes and go to the bugzilla page. Now, that's gone and, hell, i couldn't find it on the site. I used hclarkjr's link at the end of his post. Just found that kind of frustrating.

I was looking for the "check for updates" feature in "about" Firefox, it is not there anymore.

It's funny it just auto-updated though when looking for that feature.

They added a "update" button in version 4.1. help>about firefox>and you'll see a "check for updates" button now.

My Firefox told me about V4.0.1 this morning. I have it set to notify, but not auto install updates.
Same with the Add Ons as some of them (like Google Toolbar) I do not want it to update. I think the very latest release of Google Toolbar was causing issues when doing Ctrl + N or clicking a link from an email. Sometimes, when the new window opened, my toolbar buttons and search box would not be where I wanted them and I had told Google to replace the Firefox search box. It does not happen when a Ctrl + T to open a new Tab is done, but sometimes, I want a new window. Went back to Google Toolbar Version 7.1.20110316W .. so far ok.

The button doesn't show up if you have your FF to automatically check for updates. I had the button before the update, and still do afterwards because I've chosen that FF not automatically check for updates.

Fixed several security and stability issues. Hardly worth a post here for every *.*.1 update.
