Firefox 33 Released

Dunno why, but FF for me no longer works. Was running v. 30, which would not let me switch between tabs, no matter what. Downloaded 33 and no change. Out of sheer frustration, I reinstalled Pale Moon 25.1, which is working perfectly. All my addins are good, and the browser is behaving as it should. Any idea what could have happened to FF?

I'm still using Firefox v28, the last one with the old interface.

Also about the last version with the old market share. Ever since the interface was introduced they've been going down hill.
Right now, Firefox is so NOT used that I can't even find places in the internet that discuss how its market share is falling.

It's market share is falling because Google whores Chrome everywhere, and everyone uses Google. Firefox looking like Chrome isn't a plausible explanation for people switching to Chrome. Besides, it's still changeable. Their policies are more irritating than in the past, but they can be worked around. Here's my V34. Looks about the same as it always has...

Why don't you use classic theme restorer?

I do. The only "new" thing I kept is alternative curved tabs. I find them more aesthetically pleasing than rectangles, but I don't care much either way. Round or square, it doesn't affect my browsing.

Edit:
Btw, I updated to 35 this morning, and got another new icon...

It lets you share things via network services. Not so useful, and considering the stuff they /removed/ due to their new "philosophy", I'm not sure it belongs in Firefox by default, but there it is. Here's the linked page that gives the different services one can use...

That was fast. I do see the fix at the top being a pretty big issue though. Has anyone run into that?

I was surprised to see all the NEW though. Maybe they had a lot of features that were close when 33 came out.

I haven't seen that issue before.

BTW, I believe all the New items were actually for FF 33, and the Fixed ones are the only ones that apply to 33.0.1

Personally, I like this. Other browsers sit on what they have, Mozilla is actually fixing problems and continuing to strive for a better browser at the same time. There is a reason there are so many copycats out there. The installers for these updates are painless, existing data and add-ons are unaffected (mine are anyway), and the browser is as fast as ever.

To be honest, I don't get at all excited when a new Firefox or Cyberfox or Waterfox or whatever browser gets updated. It's not like it gets any faster or better, just a few internal updates and rarely do you feel a radical change. Only big changes for me was from FF 3 to 4, then from 4 till 29 are all just internal updates, then FF 30 came and demolished Firefox by making it a Google clone.

I just update for the heck of having the latest but I'm in no rush.

I despise Google Chrome.

Wow....that really is interesting! But, I ain goin back. Yet.

You're not really away, so I wouldn't worry about it. Your browser is Firefox at it's core. Eventually gets most of the same core updates. Just changes cosmetics and other options around AFAIK.
