I've been using it for the past few days, it's just as fast as Opera for me, and much faster than Firefox 2.0. The only extension I rely on that doesn't work is the Tab browser preferences thing, but I can deal without that. As long as Adblock plus works, I'm good to go. I will say that if Opera could get something like Ad Block plus I'd use that as my main browser. And that block content thing they have doesn't count.

Decided to try it. Very nice!

A good number of my extensions are working (I selected, Do not check).

Some glaring bugs - like my history list is just a big empty window even after using it. Various graphical glitches. And oh yeah... it's no faster than FF2 imho.

This is a great release. I have been using it for a day now and love it.

I'm assuming by "them" you mean Microsoft. They've gone to great lengths to make IE 8 standards compliant. The problem is that most sites out there detect the IE browser and implement all sorts of hacks and non-standard layout techniques that work in older versions of IE but are no longer necessary with IE 8.

Wrong!

Microsoft stated this is a developers release so that web site admins had time to get their sites ready to properly work in IE8. This release was never intended for public consumption.

Welp it is fast, almost too fast. But it still uses more memory then 1.5 im currently using, almost twice as much memory when having 20 tabs open.

How much memory is too much? FF3 beta 4 beats IE 7 in memory efficiency.

1.5 has not been patched in a while and has many known security vulnerabilities.

70megs with the older 1.5 vs 140megs with the latest beta.

What do you mean, Firefox 2 is currently using 55MB with 5 webpages open for me. I have never found any huge abnormal memory usage in firefox.
