Firefox 3.6.4. How to stop plugins running in their own process.

With the Firefox 3.6.4 (Lorentz) beta, plugins are now executed within their own process.

If this is causing problems and you want to disable this cool behaviour, edit the configuration setting "dom.ipc.plugins.enabled" as follows:

1) Type "about:config" into the URL bar
2) Type "dom.ipc.plugins.enabled" into the filter column
3) Change the value to "false"
4) Restart firefox

Bear in mind that if a plugin crashes now, it will take down the entire browser.

For more information, review the mozilla wiki on testing this new feature.

This sounds like a great feature. Why would you want to stop it?

You wouldn't. It's a cool new feature that will improve stability.

However, it's a change in behaviour from 3.6.3, and may cause issues on some peoples rigs. If it does, the link provided has a contact page to report such problems.
