Edit #2: Quietly released per tzdk. See his link (ftp) below.

Edit: Sorry, didn't realize that I had my FF set to find BETA updates in about:config. Update at your own risk (or reward, lol)! 🙂

Changes...

What?s New in Firefox 3.5.2 Beta

Firefox 3.5.2 Beta fixes the following issues:

* Several security and stability issues.
* Images with ICC profiles now render properly on all monitors.

Found it via the Help menu and then "Check For Updates". Looking for a direct link.

What version are you currently running? Only FF 3.5.x will see the 3.5.2. The older versions will not see it (yet as it's not the major upgrade to replace the older ones as they work the bugs out).

I've updated to the 3.5 version (non beta) quite some time ago.

http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/f...ox/3.5.2/releasenotes/ is what you have as release notes then? called Release candidate build 1 on their ftp server ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/fire...htly/3.5.2-candidates/ Normal "stable" releases dont have that as upgrade option. Think you must have inserted "beta channel" in about:config or use a plugin which does the same. Or your 3.5.1 is really the last official release candidate and so it tuned into new ones? Dont know but most of the world wont see this beta/release candidate.

Be careful saying 3.5.2 is released because download centrals cant wait to announce it - even if not official 🙂 You can get it xx hours before most others by checking release folder ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/ but they dont like direct links due to load balancing magic or whatever makes servers happy.

All I know guys is that I woke up yesterday morning and when I started FF, it told me it was updating and came up with the 3.5.2. Now I started with 3.5 BETA several months ago. Maybe I need to do a full reinstall on both of my PC's both show the 3.5.2 update.

Edit: You were right tzdk. I checked the about:config page and sure enough, the app.update.channel = beta. Not sure how to make it non beta as I don't know what the value should be, lol.

Edit #2: Found the values:....Click me.

Any luck in resolving some of those issues by upgrading?

Well, not sure. Thought it broke some video sites but found out that the new Flash was broke. Had to find a version 9 of Flash to get video working again *sigh* (I hate Flash but sometimes it's a necessity). Other than that, things are running but I never had much issue anyway.

Apparently it's a BETA anyway. I'll run it to monitor and see if it's smooth/fast or not.

And you wont until they make official release announcement. But files are ready hours or may be even a whole day before that. Final will most likely be identical to latest Release candiate. ftp://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/firefox/ nightly are daily/beta/candidates and release is what it says. Everything ever made. Tinderbox is more or less real time builds, popping out 24/7 - or so I think. Right after 3.5.2 is released they make a new 3.5.3 build which will be released daily in nightly folder - more and more bug-fixes is added until considered worhty of release.

There are more but security is popular topic so they make sure to highlight those fixes. All bugs are in Bugzilla so fixes for 3.5.2 includes this list https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/b...status1.9.1%3A.2-fixed - for some people there will be major differences.

If you have found a bug you can use Bugzilla to report it. First make a new profile, exclude add-ons. http://kb.mozillazine.org/Standard_diagnostic_-_Firefox or complain/search at Mozillazine forum http://forums.mozillazine.org/ Most in Bugzilla is too technical to be interesting but anyone can file a bug about any problem as long as it make sense, is not local problem but reproducible. Take the one about slow startup https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=501605 Unless you have found something unique I think it is better to check forum though. Think it often goes like this - people complain about whatever on forums. If no solution is found Firefox freaks later file bugs so they become official. Bugzilla is not an obvious channel for most people but the one that matters since those making Firefox are monitoring. Opensource 🙂

List of fixes in 3.5.3 has begun https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/b...status1.9.1%3A.3-fixed

I've had some issues that have taken care of themselves at some point. When I first downloaded 3.5 the open source video didn't work, start-stop, start-stop. Works now. Every time I went to AMD's main site it would try to download a flash update to view their promo stuff, would try to install but instantly stop. Worked on I8, though. Went to AMD a while ago and it's installed and working. This was after updating to 3.5.2 today. Looked at the bug list but didn't see anything relevant.

one thing i have noticed so far is that the lock ups have gone away since i upgraded to this version. i did get blue screen when i rebooted to this version which was weird but has been fine since then.
