FireFox 2 final

Woo it so much better , its got auto spell check. Like when i typing this message and typed up a wrong spelling, it would underline that word red and would de-underline itself when i fixed the spelling for that word.

a very nice update, the spell check is just too useful for forums like this, and easier, faster to use than web mail spelling checker, would be even cooler if it has auto-correct option like ms world. only disappoint is that the interface didn't get much change, but still one of the best. also glad to see ff programmers are still doing a fantastic job, the installation file only grow by 1mb to 6mb, in comparison to almost 20mb download of ie7. no crash whatsoever, and only around 30mb of ram usage, then again I'm using any extensions.

Sweet! A lot of the new features will negate the need for over half of my extensions! Official support for those features will be very nice, indeed!

[edit]

Got this sucker installed... WOW!

I haven't participated in the betas or RC's, so this is my first exposure to it but it is NIIIIICE!!!

Too bad it doesn't check your grammar. And just fyi, you made a spelling mistake 😉

has anyone figured out how to make that stupid "go" button go away?

I don't know about this new version(it offically comes out tomorrow), but right click in the menu area, customize, then drag the Go Button into the dialog box.

i kinda wish customize Google, faster fox, and menu editor still worked.

also wheres the option to open tabs when you close and open it again?

I've been using the RCs for a good while now. All you knuckleheads need to DL this if only to wipe out bad spelling from message boards.

Finally a 'close tab' button on the actual tab. Goody.

This is the only thing I don't like. With the old close tab button you could close multiple tabs in a row, with individual buttons you can't do this.

Does anyone know of a way to get the button back (extension maybe)?

Me too. I loved having one place to close a bunch of open tabs.

A day before the scheduled public release of its long-awaited Firefox 2.0 Web browser, the Mozilla Foundation has posted the final versions of the software on its FTP servers in preparation for the public launch.

New features in Firefox 2.0 include built-in anti-phishing controls, built-in RSS and XML feed-viewing capabilities and a new inline spell checker.

I grabbed the RC2 last week. It has crashed less for me than 1.5.0.7, but I preferred the close tab button in one spot instead of the individual tabs. Oh well.

IE7 can suck an egg.
