Firefox 2.0

i'll be sad cause i know my theme, Charamel won't be updated =(

though i did upgrade my work computer to 2.0 already.

Sweeet... that was slick how it detected that my extensions were not compatible and updated them automatically.

I'm lovin' it.

One cool feature I just found about:

If Firefox crashes, it will give you the option to restore your session with all the tabs you had open when it crashed. Awesome.

Yeah that restore thing has been in opera for a while, but nice to know mozilla 'borrowed' the concept themselves 🙂

Its pretty much the same. i like the spell checker, but i don't like how customize Google, faster fox, and menu editor don't work.

TWO big problems for me
1. The "go" button is locked to the right edge of the address bar - i like it on the left
2. I don't want an X on every tab, where is the option to just have 1 on the right side as before? fixed this using about:config

I get a blinking red light behind the google icon in teh search bar up top when i am on wikipedia's website. Why is this? It is driving me nuts.

4. ARGH "Search suggestions now appear in the search box auto-complete for Google and Yahoo!" nevermind figured out how to shut that off

I will have to try this out. Hopefully all of my extensions work with 2.0. (adblock, video downloader, downthem all, and a few others)

Yeah, there was an extension that did this for 1.5 and I used it all the time. It was so nice because you could just shut the browser down and open it back up 4 hours later and reopen all of the tabs.

I'm really liking 2.0. The interface just "feels" better. It's more responsive. They've also taken some of the most popular extensions and made them standard features (Tab Mix Plus, Session Restore, etc). The spell check just owns.

You can get FasterFox to work in 2.0 by modifying the install.rdf file inside the installer (fasterfox-1.0.3-fx.xpi, you can open it with any program that works with zip files).

Somewhere towards the bottom of the install.rdf file, you'll want to modify the "maxVersion" tag to be 3.0.* (or presumably any number greater than or equal to 2.0). I did this after reading about it on the FasterFox comments page yesterday and it's working great for me in FF 2.0 now.

Excellent. Thanks!

Not sure if it was an extension but all of my tabs(12+) use to resize to fit the width of the Firefox Windows, now I have to use the scroll arrows to get to some of them. Arrgh!

I got it last night. It looks nice but I think it runs a little slower than the old version. On top of that, for some reason there was a few minutes when it wouldn't load any sites at all (even though IE loaded them fine).

Hopefully that's a one time occurance though. I love the spellchecker!

2.0 doesn't work with fasterfox.

But I love the spell checker 😀
Never have to worry about spelling something wrong again.
