13 is fast! (currently on b7)

This is the most significant browsing improvement I've experienced in a very long time.

How do you disable the most visited pages being displayed when opening a new tab? If I cared about shortcuts I'd add a bookmarks toolbar, not seeing any obvious toggles for it.

There's a little checkered box thing in the upper right corner of the screen. I overlooked it the first time.

Oh that grid thing? That's weird, I figured that was just icon adjustment or something, thanks.

You can also go into about:config and change the browser.newtab.url string to about:blank (the default is about:newtab).

I like the new tab page, but I'd like to see them add a search box also. If they did that, I could get rid of my Home button. I use that exclusively to spawn a new tab which is DuckDuckGo's search page.

Liking this release. The speed dial in Opera was one of the things I really liked about the browser, good to see FF added it. A search box would definitely square it away.

Does anyone know if it will automatically update from v. 12 if you are logged in as a non-admin user account?

Good release. I can't figure out why people like Chrome, it's so plain and contrary to popular opinion on it can't be for "power" users. I use Chromium at work for testing it, and our websites out on something Webkit but I have yet to fall in love with anything about it. Even when I used the official Chrome release it felt flakier. I'm not sure if I ever abandoned FF if I'd even more to Chrome over Opera.. I doubt it, due to all the integrated features Opera has anymore (and I love their mobile browser).

Oh, smooth scrolling has sucked for years. I hope FF sync transfers that setting for me across my 3 other installs.

Good release this time. Can definitely feel the faster speed on my laptop, though still somewhat noticeably slower upon start compared to Chrome on my end. Was considering switching to Chrome fully, but not anymore.

I do not see that grid thing mentioned above. Exactly where and when do you see it ? ? Also with this new Firefox 13 does that mean we no longer need Tab Mix Plus ? ?

In the Tab Mix Plus options you need to set new tabs to open the new page tab instead of a blank page. And unless Firefox 13 changes the tab open order I certainly still need Tab mix Plus.

I guess you only see that grid when many tabs are opened. I will leave Tab Mix Plus installed, but I do like it to open to a blank page, then I select what bookmark I want to use. Or I use Open In New Tab from the Bookmark itself.

Ok my Firefox updated to Firefox 13 but that is only because Secunia PSI Beta did it for me automatically. Guessing Firefox will do it on its own soon if it hasn't already.

I can't stand waiting for autoupdate, but I haven't seen it happen yet. I love the lazy loading of tabs. Much needed feature. I realize it was in the options prior, but outside of my RSS feeds on my bookmark bar and my addons I pretty much leave FF at the default settings. I guess I have a handful of custom search engines (Craigslist, English to Espanol translator, DuckDuckGo ect) but overall, I let FF have it's way with me.
