firefox 10 final released

Firefox 10.0 is on the Mozilla web site. I just did the update a few minutes ago. So far, fine.

  • NEW Most add-ons are now compatible with new versions of Firefox by default
  • NEW Anti-Aliasing for WebGL is now implemented (see bug 615976)
  • NEW CSS3 3D-Transforms are now supported (see bug 505115)
  • HTML5 New <bdi> element for bi-directional text isolation, along with supporting CSS properties (see bugs 613149 and 662288)
  • HTML5 Full Screen APIs allow you to build a web application that runs full screen (see the feature page)
  • DEVELOPER We've added IndexedDB APIs to more closely match the specification
  • DEVELOPER Inspect tool with content highlighting, includes new CSS Style Inspector
  • FIXED Mac OS X only - after installing the latest Java release from Apple, Firefox may crash when closing a tab with a Java applet installed (700835)
  • FIXED Some users may experience a crash when moving bookmarks (681795)

Thank you, that is awesome news and will be very handy for everyone!!!

Supposedly yes. If I remember right it uses a service to do it. You can install the service or not when you first install firefox. If you would like to try it nightly has it right now.

As for addon compatibility, I haven't had any problems and it seems like this version doing well on the compatibility front.

How stupid. Thank goodness you can undo all of the Mozilla UI changes they keep making. That's what annoys me more than the Add ons breaking.

Huh? Why does the Forward button need to be visible if it can't be used at the moment?

It does worry me a little bit that our browser interface is moving towards become a series of flashing buttons that blink in and out of existence every time we do something as they try to interrupt what commands we might need at this moment.

Cue up the "OMG!? 10 already!? wtf!? FF237.0 coming March 2012" comments. 🙄

Thanks for the heads up hclark, just updated. 🙂

Edit: My forward button doesn't disappear/reappear. It's the same as it was before.

I believe if you use small icons, the forward button doesn't disappear.

Honestly, I don't give a crap until they release the 64bit version. I'm sick of the stalling. FF runs out of memory way too often on my 16Gb machine.

Installed firefox 10 yesterday and everything works 100%. I like the
hidden forward button when it's not needed, this makes perfect sense to me. 🙂

Developers need to get away from pop under ads and also these annoying social network toolbars. You know the ones that you can use to comment on Facebook or other insane site. Sometimes you can close them, other times, they take up a couple of rows at the screen bottom, blocking items I want to see.
