Firefox 1.5 woes

Well the first problem that hit me 3 days after upgrading was all my bookmarks vanished. Fortunately they are backed up (ff does so when you change them)

However I have other wonderful problems now.

1. I have no search engines and cannot add any.

2. Firefox no longer starts fullscreen and no pages opened in a new window do either. Worse it won't remember its windows settings between sessions.

I know its not a windows user id problem as Firefox did not lose any cookies, my stored passwords (I store for useless sites - like forums), or autocomplete text.

any ideas short of deleting and reinstalling?

To me, it sounds like a bad install. Export your bookmarks, uninstall, reinstall.
I have had none of those issues with 1.5.

I've had a memory leak since I've upgraded to 1.5 I've reinstalled 2 or 3 times and still have the problem. I wonder if it's an extension causing the problem...

I saw some developers realize on IRC last night that there are in fact bad leaks in 1.5 (at least on Windows). Maybe they'll do something about it now.

that might be why I'm getting 'insufficient memory errors' I get firefox to take up 200-300 megs easy.

I'm also having new window troubles - Ctrl+N no longer opens a new window. Neither does File->New Window.

Edit: Clone Window v0.24 was the problem. v0.26 works fine.

i'm lucky, firefox has been on sense yesterday with 3 windows open and still snappy and doesn't even appear to be taking up huge amounts of memory.
