Firefox 1.5 on OSX

I have Firefox 1.5 sized to take up my whole screen, except for the "bottom bar" area occupied by the dock.

However, whenever I open a new Firefox window, the new window is moved down the height of the title bar, presumably a "feature" so I can see the titles of all open windows. The problem is, this small movement causes the new window to overlap my dock a little bit, which really bothers me.

Is there any way to make new Firefox windows open right on top of the current one?

Or more broadly, is there a way to specify the location and size of new windows in applications? Or Firefox specifically?

Thanks.

I don't know how to change the behaviour, but I'd bet on the os x window manager itself being the culprit. Every other app I can think off works this way.

Try it with Safari, it creates new windows right on top.

I'm pretty sure that's a Windows feature that new windows open a bit down and to the right. Why don't you just maximize it?

There's no maximize in OS X. It'd be retarded to add junk like that. Instead. make smaller Firefox windows.

I've tried maximizing before I hit new window. No matter what I do, the new window opens a bit down.

Yes, I know I can just drag it back up half an inch, but it's a major annoyance to do that for every new window.

Oh... that weird OS. I assumed he was using Windows and didn't know what the task bar was or was using some third-party dock app.
