I just tried firefox for the first time. While the features are pretty nice, I couldn't get over the fact that it kept fvcking up the fonts on every page I visited. Is this a known problem? I couldn't find anything in their knowledge database...

This release was supposed to fix some issues with extensions. Do tell us what extensions you are using.

If you can come up with a specific action that can consistently reproduce the bug and can rule out spurrious sources, you may want to consider filing a bug report.

For those who are wondering, if you don't uninstall first, every incremental entry will stay in add/remove... and that just sucks.

I think that delta patches were on the table for 1.1. I'll see if I can find out if they still are.

dictionary and all-in-one gestures got through ok.

whois, downloadthemall, and translate extensions got tossed but I've been able to re-install them.

The font sizes just aren't consistent like they are with IE. In the above examples, I can adjust the fonts in FF to appear like they do in IE, but then that just screws up Anandtech.

edit: Oh, and my mouse wheel doesn't scroll as many lines in FF as it does in IE. That also bugs me a little.

I have no idea, but my guess is Firefox is correctly displaying the font sizes and IE is messing them up. IE sucks when it comes to standards stuff. I am learning this more and more as I am starting to develop pages.

Change your mouse scroll number higher. Problem solved. I run it at 8.

It looks like you have the font size in IE set to something larger than "medium"? I just use Ctrl + or Ctrl - to control font size in Firefox, which I think is more flexible than IE's choice of +/- 2 sizes

Fonts are completely adjustable in Preferences.

In about:config, mousewheel.* controls vertical scrolling, and mousewheel.horizscroll.* controls horizontal scrolling. The controls are not documented to my knowledge (though a little searching wouldn't hurt), so you may end up having to go source diving if you want to change that.

I'm running windows with Large Fonts which I think firefox is ignoring, but IE takes into account.

If I change my mouse scroll number higher, that'll fix the scrolling in FF, but all my scrolling in other applications will be set too high.
