just upgraded to 1.0.2, my surfing speed became drastically slower. maybe the new install replaced the multiple connections patch for v1.0? anyone have any ideas? i also edited the config according to some guides in about:config.

I used the internal Firefox updater to upgrade from 1.0.1 and 1.0.2, and it doesn't seem any slower to me. All my tweaked network settings appeared to have been carried over as well.

i was thinking maybe its because i just intalled a wireless router and all my nonwireless connections are going through that as well. but last night, before i updated, it was so much faster. i tested the speed on pcpitstop, and the difference in speed is drastic

With troubleshooting like that it's not a surprise you don't understand.

Uninstall Firefox, delete profile (BACKUP YOUR BOokMARKS.HTML FILE FIRST), reinstall Firefox.

Wireless is like a hub. The available bandwidth will be split between all clients. I'd wire up as many of them as are convenient, check for viruses and spyware, etc.
