I was updating one of the machines here at work this morning and noticed that Firefox 0.9.3 is out now--that's news to me because I expected to find 0.9.2 on Mozilla's site.

This may or may not be a Hot Deal but when 0.9.2 came out, it was posted here so I thought I'd do the same this time. This thread is mainly to inform everyone that may not check Mozilla's site that 0.9.3 is out...feel free to post in it and share your experiences with the new version. I haven't examined it in depth so it would be nice if you all would share your thoughts on the stability and compatibility of the new release. Is it working in sites that 0.9.2 had trouble with? Is it more or less prone to crash? Any bug fixes? Is anything broken from the last build? Etc...

Thanks for looking, and enjoy!

Been using Firefox for months now. Love it. More stable and secure than IE... until it becomes mainstream (and targetted by hackers and viruses).

You hit it dead on... it's only a matter of time.

i use firefox for my normal internet surfing, with Flash not installed. if a site needs flash, there is a context menu button that lets you vie the current page in IE. perfect browser.

I guess ppl don't think things are hot deals unless they can spend money on it... here:

FIREFOX TSHIRTS!

As to how this is hot:
1. It's got less vulnerabilities than IE (as of right now anyway)
2. It's a very cool application for free.
3. It's open source, so you can feel free to contribute to its development.
4. Firefox addresses issues MUCH faster than IE
5. EXTENSIONS!!!!!

Just because it's always free, doesn't mean it's not a hot deal. I mean people are always posting up information on how to get free t-shirts or samples, or some other random thing or another. It's just information on how to get something valuable for free. And to me, a rock solid browser with built-in popup blocker and support for some incredible extensions is definitely a hot deal.

You can install the flash player for FireFox as well... I think you have an extension installed to view the current page in IE, that context menu isn't available normally..

I expect it's happening already - 0.9.2 and 0.9.3 have both been security fix releases.....

I use Firefox for all my browsing. However after installing it on this laptop the IE trackpad shortcuts don't work with firefox. Anyone have a solution to this?

Guys, I don't mean to hate but, how exactly is this a hot deal?

If someone was posting a new version of Opera (which, imo is a superior browser) they'd be flamed out of their minds.
Just because it's a software program that the software masses enjoy doesn't make it a "legitamate hot deal"

Just my 2 cents.

Honestly, I think we're all better off letting the moderators decide what is a hot deal and what isn't
