Browncoats:Redemption was a travesty. The intention were good and honorable, but the execution was completely horrible.
Among the incredibly long list of heinous violations committed by the creators of Redemption, the worst had to be the fifteen minute voiceover of the main character explaining why she was no longer affiliated with the alliance. This violates the number one rule of movie making: Show, Don't Tell. Not to mention that the lead role was played by a woman who has no place in front of a camera.
In fact, the film was such a goatf*ck that I have decided to create my own feature-length film set in the firefly universe, just to show Joss Whedon that there are at least a few fans out there who aren't out to rape the firefly name into oblivion.
And I know this sounds harsh, but they had almost twenty thousand dollars to make this movie. As I said, I'm sure they had the best intentions, but with twenty thousand dollars, a half-trained chimp who has seen firefly only a few times could have done a much better job of bringing Whedon's vision to life. I'm sure that after he saw the movie, he cried himself to sleep for the next few weeks.
But do not fret, my friends, for my movie is on the way. Construction is already underway, although I estimate it will take somewhere in the ballpark of two to three years to complete, because I am getting deployed to Afghanistan at least once in that time. But I vow to avenge you, Joss Whedon, and the proceeds from my movie will be going to the USO.
Sorry if this came off rant-ish, but i just watched redemption after a marathon of firefly, and I was appalled.
Goodbye all, and I will keep you updated with the movie as it progresses. If you'd like story details and spoilers, please request through a private message.
