I'd post my own builds, but I include some information useful for debugging that makes the output files relatively large. My builds are also nightlies... so currently I have mozilla "1.6a" and firebird "0.7+"

Awesome! I'm gonna start all brand new with a new profile and no more useless extensions without an uninstall option. Thanks for the link. Looks like their servers are loaded. www.Mozillazine.org their forums are also packed and they had a hardware problem. Looks like Mozilla is pretty popular :) BTW, what do you guys think of the new website? I think it kicks arse, but I don't like the Firebird page too much... Also what's up with the built in google bar???

Yea, I find it more convenient to search from the address bar - type some stuff, press up then enter. You can remove the search bar in FB by right-clicking and choosing "customize toolbar".

any real reason to switch from IE other than just being an M$ hater? I tried Opera for awhile and liked the look and feel....tabed browsing is cool...but some websites just wouldent work right in Opera.

Built in popup blocker isnt a good enough reason for me to switch browsers....so why switch to Firebird?

:)

http://www.mozilla.org/products/firebird/why/

The main reason I use Firebird is because of Tab browsing, and the endless options and customizations.

Also, there's extensions which add many features to Firebird, there's themes, bookmark keywords, etc. In my personal experience, I surf the net much much faster than IE. I've never used Opera though. It's not for everyone, at least not yet. If you don't know too much about computers or you don't want to put up with sites not loading, programs not downloading, then it's not for you. I think, it will be a major competitor to IE really soon. After all, Firebird is only in version .7, while IE is version 6 and has Microsoft behind them, while Mozilla has lots of volunteers and fundraisers, what a difference, don't you think.

First of all, have you used Firebird yet? If not, I highly suggest you give it a try. If you have and didn't like it, that's too bad. Maybe you should try it again in 3 or 6 months. Lastly, I just want to say that don't go back to regular IE, there are much better browsers (or shells) that offer much more features than IE. myIE2 and Avant browser are the popular ones. Definitely give those a try. I tried myIE2 for a little bit but went back to Firebird. :)
Long Live Firebird

IE6 is a 3 year old browser. It has simply fallen way behind the other major browsers in features and functionality. Firebird, Mozilla, Opera, and Safari are all superior to IE at this point. If you're the type of person who is still using Win98 because "it does the job," then by all means stick with IE. But if you like having the newest software with the best features and usability, try Firebird or Mozilla.

Which is even more interesting considering that IE7 will only come with the next version of windows, and that's not coming until 2006. I wonder what will happen to IE's dominance in the meantime.

It's just sad that IE doesn't have tab browsing. It seems like it's default for most browsers now. I wonder if IE 7 will have it...not likely.

Ill give it a try this weekend....

The only thing that keeps me with IE is the fact that I never get crashes or have any cases where I website wont work with the broswer. While it would be nice to have the latest software that has cool new features, and is faster.....stablility is one of my main concerns.

Opera crashing or not loading web pages right would frustrate me and cause me to waste time trying to figure out what the problem is....this just iritates me and wastes my time.

anyhoot....Ill dload it this weekend and post my impressions:)
