Fire-wire?

Sorry if it seems like a stupid question, but when im looking at ppls reviews about Mobos they always mention " that it sucks that the motherboard dont have any fire-wire ports.

I was just wondering, what is so special about fire wire? Im not shure what it is. Is it a faster port for USB 2.0?

much faster than USB 2.0, its differnet than USB 2.0... used mainly for media such as cameras video cameras and mp3 players .. sometimes external hard drives and such
