Generally, I think it is high time for MoveOn.org to move on, but I got a kick out of this.

I think so, too. I am tired of the stupid emails they send me. I ragged on them and I think many dems did when within 10 minutes of Bush nominating Roberts, they had a mass email ready to roll and in my inbox stating it was time to rally the troops against him. Said it before I will say it again, there are more important issues facing this country than a SCOTUS nominee.

I dasagree. There might be bigger problems at the moment, but the nomination has consequences that are more far-reaching than all, with the possible exception of the Patriot Act.

To the victor goes the spoils; if MoveOn and all the other freak groups wouldn't have pissed America off with their constant bashing and no policies, perhaps a Democrat would be in office making 1,2, or 3 picks. Nonetheless, these fring groups are just further marginalizing themselves and becoming irrelevant to the whole political process, much like the NAACP recently under Bond, the Unions under Sweeny, etc etc etc...
Fight his nomination all you want...and wait for '06. Give the Republicans 4 more seats and the Democrats could just as well stay home...don't need them to pass anything with the super majority, and look how close they are...some people just don't get it.

Including, apparently, the Republicans. The margin of victory in 2004 was pretty thin by normal standards, and that was with some pretty big things in their favor. I think the Democrats are more aware of what they need to do than the Republicans, who for some reason seem to think the battle is over.
