Fire close to almaden/los gatos, CA??

I just popped my head out my door and thought we were having a solar eclipse, until I noticed the large amount of brown was only covering 3/4th of the sky. Anyone else near by almaden/los gatos/santa cruz see it? Couldn't find a news report on it.

Yeah I'm seeing it too. For now, I'm assuming it's a wind shift, and the smoke from the santa cruz mtns fire is coming into the valley. I can't confirm it anywhere though. (There's also a fire in Fremont, but the smoke isn't coming from that direction)

It's really weird, between the smoke and the sunset, everything is orange outside. We're watching it pretty closely, just in case. I figure if it was anything big, there would be breaking news everywhere.

thats what I figured. I walked outside and saw an orange sun and nearly sht myself. Its like wearing yellow safety goggles!

Northward looking it is clear (2000 hrs) on the 880

Heading south along the 880 toward the SJ Airport it looked like a storm was approaching based on the color.
