I have it in my area, didn't even know about this. I wonder if I can get it for the same price I pay now for all my services.
EDIT:
LOL yeah I'll pass. It's an extra $55/mo than what I pay now. Not worth it. I love how Verizon (well I guess all cable companies) don't reward people for being loyal customers and only give new customers these good prices.
Maybe I'd have to chat with someone, I just checked the upgrade options on the website. You're in the minority, seen a lot of reports of people getting upgraded to gig service for cheap, many at less than the new customer deals.

If you doing just internet to just internet, its probably not that great, but the ones updating int&tv to same are doing well.
Even if you're in an area with FiOS, not all FiOS areas have gigabit service yet, as that's up to the local office to have upgraded as well.Right now, it's only available on these cities.
Hopefully I'll be ordering it this weekend - need to have roommate cancel so I can be a "new customer."
It's not $70, though. They list $22.xx in fees PLUS "taxes and other fees."
Check the online configuration tool.Just got off the phone with Verizon and its available in my area but no amount of charm was I able to get anything close to the introductory pricing. They wanted 60 dollars more. I'm on 50/50 now and the gig service would be cool, but its plenty enough for me now. I remember 7 years ago I had DSL and then moved to and got 25/25 FIOS and I was heaven. I still am happy with it. But it would be cool![]()

Buried deep inside they are still an RBOC with the "what us bargain?" attitude. When it is finally available in Prince William I will try to bargain with them anyway as I could probably be persuaded to go with the triple play and turn off DirecTV.Just got off the phone with Verizon and its available in my area but no amount of charm was I able to get anything close to the introductory pricing. If you don't have TV and house phone, you can get triple play with the Custom TV package and Digital voice with Gigabit.
Should be fairly cheap.
On my account currently it would cost me $40 to "upgrade" from 1gbps to 50/50mbps.
