Ice cold? I take it you've never drank vodka with any eastern bloc type people.Originally posted by: Vic
Gray Goose is overrated.
Vodka is supposed to be served ice-cold. Either out of the freezer or shaken over ice.
Just because vodka doesn't freeze solid at freezer temps does not mean that it doesn't become more viscous. Almost every liquid becomes more viscous as its temperature decreases.
I live in an ABC state so I've never seen this Costco vodka. If I drink vodka, I usually drink Smirnoff or Stoli. Usually though, I prefer whiskeys or rums. Or just a good microbrew.

Vodka is drank warm, in shots, with lots of food right behind it.
Vodka taste ratings are ridiculous. Vodka isn't a single malt scotch, it's not meant to be sipped to enjoy it's deep subtle layers of flavor. It's a base level alcoholic drink made from practically anyting, beets, corn, rye, potatoes, sugar etc.

Um well, yeah, I agree. Which is why I drink my vodka ice-cold and my bourbon at room temp.

Uh no... there's no point in drinking vodka straight.
As for your comment regarding bourbon, I'll just pretend I didn't hear such a barbaric comment. It's not your fault you were raised in such a strange and backwards country that they couldn't instill in you an appreciation for proper whiskey.
That's how you drink vodka. Straight, warm, fast, with food.Originally posted by: Vic

A few years ago I went to St. Petersburg and was drinking this vodka there and thought that it was incredible. My best friend's wife is from there and when her family would come to visit, they always brought me a bottle. This was the smoothest and best tasting vodka that I had ever had. No wonder the Russians drink so much of this stuff!
Now, it is finally available in the states and I have kept a bottle in the house at all times ever since finding it again.
I now present to you......Russian Standard!
