When I first learned about Christmas loans I was like, "WTF is wrong with people's brains?"

Very few people want to put the glasses on...

Damned if I know but I like it. :D It's no different that charging it, imo. A lot of my customers can't get a credit card. Back when there were only 4 small loan companies in town, I'd make 300 during December. Now, there are 14 that do what I do with some crossover and internet options too. I'll still do 125, easy.

Dude...you're slacking! I finished working until forever...14 years ago this past week. I don't have to call in sick...I don't have to schedule vacations...and I don't have to be pissed about (most) Mondays...EVERYDAY is a weekend day!

Not criticizing...

My thing about this Monday sucks, Wednesday is hump day and OMG it's Friday is kinda sad. I get it at work as well. To me, it sounds like "I hate my job I don't like my job. I'm just here for the paycheck."

IMO, you should like what you do since most of your life is going to be at a job. Yea, everyday isn't going to be an amazing adventure. I'm not nieve and know that work can be exhausting and stressful.

Finally, this old and antiquated concept of I'm going to live my life when I retire is just stupid. The reason why it doesn't make much sense is when you do retire at 62 most of your life is over. Your energy levels start dipping after 30. When I traveled throughout Asia I didn't see any old people who were traveling. Many were in a pub all day drinking. Not really enjoying the sites.

Got a buddy who retired at 30. He still works but can do what ever he pleases. At 30! So I asked him what pushed him to retire at such a young age. His response was FREEDOM. To be able to do what he wanted while he was young. Not when he was 60 and on the back end of his life. Because, let's be honest. A 60 year old has 1-2 decades of good health. But, to be able to have the option to retire young. Now, that's a great option. If you love what you do and want to do it forever that's different. And, those people are lucky.

I'm nearing 40. My goal is to retire to Vietnam in 8-10 years. Shouldn't be an issue.

Uh, boomer's 104. Living the good life on union pay and social security. Except for being old as shit, I'd ask for his retirement plan.

And his grands are 1K miles away. Win.

I'm finished work til Monday... :blinks:

Trying to decide how I want to handle the holidays. Two four day weekends? Maybe one long stretch bridging jul and new years? Perhaps split the difference with two five day weekends... That's what a weekend should be anyway, not this two day bullshit corporatists have foisted on the people...
I think I'll go with the two five day weekends. If something urgent comes up, I'll come in at a rate of 2:1. IOW, I'll take 2 days off in the future in exchange for breaking vacation.

In case anyone's wondering, yes, it's as arbitrary as it seems. I'm being nice, and splitting the difference between what I want to do, and what other people want. One of these days, I'll load my pack, and hit the road. The fucks I give are increasingly small year over year...
