Finished software release - what project memento?

We're releasing a 2.5 year software project this month. My company usually buys a polo shirt for each person that was involved, with the company logo and project name on it. I suggested my manager ask the team if they liked getting those shirts, and 5/7 people on the team (myself included) said they never wear them.

Consensus is they are not worn because
- company clothing never looks good
- the shirts never fit well

So, my manager was looking for other suggestions. Roughly $15/person cost, and will go to ~50 people who have contributed to the project. If it's not more interesting than a shirt then we'll have to go with that, and I'll just tell my manager I don't want one 🙂.

Suggestions?

Ice chest with company logo

Some folding lawn chairs

Stuff people actually use

See that's my big thing. As much as I like subsidizing the local salvation army with $15 shirts I'd rather get something I could use.

Btw we are already having a big party (club level at a baseball game). This is for memento reasons only, just something that's done for every project.

2.5 year project = big stinkin deal. get them something awesome, at least a couple hundred bucks.

Keep in mind we're throwing a couple parties for most people who were largely involved (~15 people) and I'm sure a lot of us will be getting project complete bonuses. I think the idea is we always give out some small token to remember the project. A plaque (bleh) or a shirt (double bleh) is convention... if we can think of something better I'd like to break convention.

I like the suggestion of a folding chair, like

Its a software company. They probably all wear t-shirts.

Yup. I wear jeans and a t-shirt to work every day.

Coffee mug is a good idea! I thought of that just before checking this thread, and saw it suggested a couple times.

I second or third or whatever the coffee mug. That is something I always need at my desk. Get everyone a coffee mug, and then get a Keurig machine in the shared area. It's not that cheap, but you only need one. I'm sure your boss can ok it.
