this is a shot of the circle saw mod this is a 3 7/8 inch circle saw cut it has a 92mm low cost green plastic grill and a green gelid pwm case fan

img2369iw.jpg

this is the new build has the i7 3770k in it .

I moved the aluminum diy grill onto this build and put a xigametek white led pwm fan inside. this shot does not quite show how it looks as it is a side view. to the left in the ht rack is the i5 3470s build with untouched face and a very bright blue led pwm case fan inside (lepa).

to the left is the green i7 3770t build just partly in sight.

img2368zz.jpg

here is a face on shot of the new build the white leds are just visible behind the grill

img2370fp.jpg

this is a shot of the green i7-3770t with the lights out.

the screen is showing the vitals on the i7-3770k build while i have it running bit coin. if you look right and under the preamp you can see the blue glow from the i5-3470s build. you can run this build without a faceplate mod if you don't play many games and don't over clock much.

TOP SHOT OF THE NEW I7-3770K build note the custom wires into the modular seasonic fanless 400. what really inspired me to do this third build was the cougar fan sale as I wanted to do the build with a fanless psu. the cougar fans really moves a lot of air through the psu. as does the xigamtech 120mm as the case fan. also wanted a reference hd7970
as it back exhausts the air. this build runs nicely.

I have a few more shots.

img2372dn.jpg

this is a close up shows the custom cpu wire from the seasonic to the cpu/mobo jack

img2374ux.jpg

a good view of the sapphire hd7970 those are custom pci-e wires far shorter then standard.

the reviewer of this case said he thought a reference card would be cooler in this case. I have done 3 builds and he is correct. the rear exhaust cards are better for cooling

close up of cpu power cord

this shot shows that the cougar fan has under 1/4 inch clearance from the seasonic fanless. but it blows directly into the fanless psu so the air does escape from the heat sink. also 1/3 of the fan blows air past the psu as the psu is small sized. I am considering a 1 inch spacer with would make the psu stick out a bit more in back of the unit.

last shot the new build with the lid on it. just a hint of the leds from the fan.

I have to say these cases are really pretty nice with a little bit of planning. plus using the itx boards that have msata work very nice.

i have tried;
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

PSU
seasonic 400 watt fanless

seasonic x660

antec ea 440 platinum .. in all cases i faced the grill open end of the psu right at the cpu cooler fan. this helps air leave the cpu. the seasonic are nice as I can get the custom cables for them from hong kong.

the antec is nice as it is small but I would only use it if i left out the dvd player or only used a msata. the antec is not modular so tucking the cables into the hdd bay or the dvd bay is a must do.

FANS
I have used the (pwm) cougar fans listed in hot deals as the cpu fan very high air moving

front intake all three can move air. all three have leds and all 3 are pwm.

(pwm) gelid

(pwm) xigmatek

CPUS WITH MOBO

I5-3470S INTEL BOXDH77DF

I7-3770T ASROCK Z77E-ITX

I7-3770K ASROCK Z77E-ITX

HEATSINKS

THIS IS not cheap but is very nice in itx builds works really good with the cougar fan.

im more of a tiny fan if were going itx.

Like the Lian Li Q05B... or the morex itx cases.

I think if i had to use a mini as my main system.. id have problems fitting everything inside a bitfinex prodigey, and thats like a Mountain Mods case to the ITX world.

Anyhow those CM's are kinda neat.. i may consider one in the future...
