Now, THAT is a system. And look...Even with Next Day shipping, it's about $1,800. $200 less than you claim you spent on your friend's system. Let's also subtract $120 for the CPU, $40 for the mobo, $112 for the soundcard.....maybe you see where I'm going?

Not to mention, and I'm not hating on AMD I think they have the best budget systems, if you really wanted to get the best on the market, a P4 Canterwood system is hands down the best performing. Whoever said that the 3000+ and 2.8c are equal preformers hasn't read a lot of reviews because the 2.4C spanks the 3000+ and even the 3200+ in a lot of the benchmarks.

It's cool if you took some money and ran...I would probably charge a few bucks to build a system for a friend. But, again...Unless he got a super badass LCD, speakers *btw, I could have added Logitech Z560s THX certified speakers to that system...AND STILL be under $2000* and a BJ, there's no way that somone who knows how to shop online spent $2,000 on that system.

I'm just asking for a list of what, exactly, is in that PC and where you bought it from. This just doesn't add up.

now thats more like it!

indeed.

I used to own a large cabinet/ woodworking shop and I would have guys come in all the time to show me a project that they had just completed. Most of the time they would say, "I know this isn't as nice as you build stuff, but......" . I would stop them right away and tell them that not only did they do a great job, but they did a great job just because they DID it. That's farther than 90% of people get. I don't care where the money went, that's between you and the guy you built this for. Past the end of my nose is none of my buisiness. But you obviously took a lot of pride in your work and did a very good job. I'm sure your friend is going to want to put his own case badge on this and do all the other things that we all do to make it ours. But in the mean time, I'll bet he is going to get a lot of pleasure out of running that rig and showing it off. Congrats on a job well done. Sorry to be so wordy.

What HSF is that? Do those clips hold the fan on very well? From the pics it looks as if the clips might come loose and the fan fall out if the case was tilted or something.

crap computer btw, your friend should sue. Further, in the interests of the public you should submit your parts list to an independent, registered auditor for review. Submission of all associations and economic ties with all related parties is mandatory.

I could build one with the parts I prefer and list the minimalist components that relate only to what i need, well OK only what I need to turn it on, conveniently forgetting what I need to actually use it in any way except listen to the whirr of the fans, and come out cheaper. Granted that means the PC suits me and is not necessarily anything like what the guy you made it for wants, even down to my choice having a P4 when the monster AMD sticker makes it blatantly obvious he's a big AMD fan who damn well wants an AMD. Actually I think he should also cut costs and use my obscure Linux-variant preference, because even though he likes windows, is completely clueless with linux, the linux doesnt run any of his preffered winblows programs because he actually isnt running a file server, well because linux isnt made by M$ and they are teh Satan. But hey i'm going to flame anyway just because well i'm anal like that and believe that what I think is right, damn well IS right, and even if not, my preferences, needs and wants are the same - nay, are more important damnit - than everyone elses.

Personally I think you should have just bought a Dell, because they do lots of UV fan stuff and every PC is completely unique just like your guy obviously wants it. Actually, maybe an Apple, because they look good and your guy wants that. Or a Playstation. Or maybe a Microwave or something. My suggestions are 100% better than what you came up with because naturally, having never ever met him or even communicated a ASCII character over the internet, I know and understand your guy's preferences far better than you did, even if the preferences given are just what my personal preferences would be with that money, and even if its all that little bit late and pointless now since the pics show the thing has CLEARLY BEEN BUILT ALREADY.

HSF looks like a SLK-800. But I digress.

I feel sorry for your kind.

Davegod you got it about right!!
hehe even if a little sarcastic 😀

everyone here who is ripping on the system, and ripping on the guy who built it, really have no idea what the buyer wanted.

you guys could have built it cheaper? whoopie, good for you 🙂
so why not be a jerk about it (ooh wait, nevermind you guys already did that)

nice system nick1985

heh damn well i do that when i barrow a car, better not let me barrow ur car lol

your friend got owned....by you, overpriced.

although overpriced, still very nice specs, nice job on the case, cable management decent. I hope you have a blast when you realize the $$ you pocketed for "assembling" this rig is no where near enough when you get a call every month for his tech support.
