Power wires. Speaker wires don't matter as much, you'd just be running out of phase.

Are your high's and mids bridged on the same amp? Will your amp handle the load?

you grounded the amps in the same spot correct? make sure you dont have a ground loop.

did you run your RCA's next to the power wire? poorly insulated RCA's will get static from the power wire...

MIKE

No I didn't ground the amps at the same spot. Ones grounded at the rear left of the trunk, the other on to the left front of the rear deck. What do you mean by a grounding loop?

Also yes the rca's are passing next to the power wire, but they are double sheiled rca's.

There is your problem. You've got a ground loop. Ground the amps to the same spot. Buy a distribution block (relatively cheap, you can probably find it on ebay). Depending on what gauge wire you are using, thick wire goes from sanded part of car frame to distribution block. thinner wire goes from distribution block to each amp.

and double shielded wires doesn't mean anything. might actually INCREASE noise. bunch of BS car audio companies came out with to make extra money.

you will be best served by keeping the gain on the amps lower and turning up the HU instead. a hotter signal will give you less noise when you amplify it. BUT, you don't want to overload the inputs on the amp, so if you're getting distortion at normal volumes, you need more gain and less signal.

I agree with thomsbrain.

If youre getting noise through your speakers its probably being picked up by the signal wires (RCAs) between the headunit and amp.

Try keeping RCAs and power cable as far apart as possible, and if they do need to cross, make sure they do so at 90 degrees.

Try that out and see if it works.

An alternative is to run a (temporary) RCA over your seats to the amp - its a great test to see if you have an interferance problem.

you should have gotten 2 JL 12's and 2 JL 5x7 w/ tweeters and put the infinities in the back. Then powered the whole thing with Alpine MRVF340 V-12 Series 140-Watt 4-Channel Amplifier

sh1tty components result in sh1tty sound

I'm going to fix my grounds with a distribution block (thats what I used for the power, so I'll ahve to get another one for the grounds), and see how that works. Then i'll adjust the gains as mentioned. Thanks for the help guys.

Are you bias against Adire products, or are you just pulling my chain?

nothing wrong with adire. some people are just love the name brands.

one more thing to do, is to ground your headunit directly to the car frame instead of using the stock ground wire. just make sure you sand away some paint to get to bare metal.

I finally got around to installing a distribution block for the grounds of the amps. But it hasn't solved the problem or the alternator whine when I gas.

Any other sugestions?

1. ground the HU directly to the car.

2. lower your gains.

3. try interconnects if ur just using regular RCA's

4. if those don't work, get a noise filter.

and IMO, the RCA next to power cable thing is a myth.... i always run them together, never had a problem.

5. send all the equipment to me and I will enjoy it :)
