fingerprints all over my monitor!!!

ARGH! i haven't been home in two days... i come home today and i have oily fingerprints all over my monitor :| i dun understand why ppl NEED to plot their fingers directly on the screen... doesn't pointing accomplish the same thing!?!?

I swear that people just don't care (which isn't that hard to believe)

I mean, i know some people who apologize profusely if they accidentally touch my monitor

And then there's people like my boss at work, and my parents, that practically manhandle my computer screens

when showing me things....it's like they have no concept of what they're doing!
 
yes it p!sses me off BIG STYLE as well!

I just don't UNDERSTAND it....
 
i think every computer person gets pissed when someone rubs their grimey hands all over their monitors
 
I hate it when people decide to touch the montior when they need to point at something. If they do it in your presence, threaten to break their finger if they do it again.

It is also my pet peeve that people do that.

The worst was to find my 3 month old Viewsonic 19in PF790 at work have 4 quarter inch scratches after I came back from holiday. :|
 
look at the bright side...at least that aren't ass prints on your monitor...or even worse, mushroom prints
 
If you find the "printers" and "scratchers", just go over to their monitor the next time with a pen/mechanical pencil/etc... and mark up their screen.
Mebbe a sneeze or cough on their screen for good measure 😛

That's why people order those "anti-glare" screens... put it on as a monitor condom.
 
I couldn't stand it anymore so I solved the problem by getting everyone in the house their own computer. Now it's so nice, no fingerprints.
 
They should make guillotine frames that attach to the front of a monitor.

If finger gets near, it breaks a laser beam, the blade comes down protecting the monitor and 'removing' any threat to the screen.

A note scotch taped to the monitor:| My work has this lame tape that leaves this nasty residue on the monitor screen after removal of the tape. It just chaps my hide:|
 
my father put a nice 3" scratch on my lappy screen cuz he decided to use a mechanical pencil, with the lead sticking out, to try and trace mapquest route.

Nevertheless, that lappy was flawless until the scratch occured...

YEAH! I hate it when people put their fingers over the monitor! ESPECIALLY when it's an LCD screen! They put pressure on the screen and you can see the liquid crystal warping! When I saw my friend do that, I was screaming inside "NNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!" It's like... I'm not running MY fingers all over you so lay off my FRICKING MONITOR!!
 
Screen Shocker? put finger on screen, deliver 1000 volts to persons finger, efectively teaching them to not smear their finger oils into your screens.

Argh, I hate fingerprints on the monitor, but for some reason sometimes I accidentally touch it myself and I say to my self:

sometimes i accidentally touch my monitor too, but i would kinda polish it off right away. when there is a one inch oily fingerprint on the monitor... i am sure u can't miss it. but i guess they just figure it was always there... even tho it was their finger that just touched that very spot on the monitor. i like the monitor guillotine idea... 😀

i'd be more concerned about the people who broke into my house and put smudges all over my monitor.
