Fingerprint reader from Microsoft

Thanks for answering my question. I have one last question: why does Microsoft say not recommended for financial stuff or corporate networks? Those are two reasons I am interested in getting one.

Here's the http://www.microsoft.com/hardw...tures/fingerprint.mspx[/L]. Read below for Microsoft's quote on FP reader for financial info and corp access.
The Fingerprint Reader should not be used for protecting sensitive data such as financial information or for accessing corporate networks. We continue to recommend that you use a strong password for these types of activities.

I have used it somewhat and I think it sucks. I was excited when i bought one, but then took it back. IT seems to work well at first, but then apparently my index finger print is the same as my thumb??!?!

I hear there are better brands out there, but have not used any.

I got a APC Biopod for Christmas that was top rated in one review. I have been unable to fool it so far and it works flawlessly with Win XP SP2 and all websites so far. Very useful and saves a lot of time and memory stress. I highly recommend that brand. I have no experience with the MS version; but I believe MS's ID software is different from that of APC. Both are the same price roughly.
