Finger tip turns white and tingles in cold

My aunt has one finger that when her hands get chilled or cold the tip of one finger turns white and feels numb/tingles. It is the same finger each time and it has happened a few times now. She also works in a nail salon for the last 20 years so her hands get quite a bit of work so that might have something to do with it...

Sounds to me like some sort of loss of circulation but after a web search I've not seen anything. I thought maybe someone on here would have heard of it or have an idea before there is a trip to the doctor.

Thanks folks!

I was just looking at another page on Raynaud's too. At first I thought it was only multiple/all fingers but the page I'm reading now says it can be just one finger.

Maybe I've found it!

It's actually called Raynaud's disease when it is not caused by another condition. I have it as well. It's not severe, but my hands change colors, are slow to heat up, puff up when too warm, and my toes turn white when on martial arts mats. That may very likely be what you have. It's not so bad. Find some good gloves - that'll help a lot.

it sounds like reynaud's syndrome right off the bat, but it could be something else, like a specific circulatory impingement . when did this start? which finger is it? does it happen in both hands? does it tingle if she puts her hand in the air? does it happen if she turns her head the opposite direction of her hand?
