Finger on thermal paste.... (how do you spread yours?)

So i guess the question is to spread or not to spread..

I always spread a thin layer of paste and cover the entire core. I also use my finger to spread it and I have never had a problem in the 7+ yrs i've been messing with computers. That is my real world experience anyways.

yep. But I'd never spread it out with my finger. Maybe I'm just a freak, but it doesn't seem worht the risk of getting slightly higher temps to me.
