Finger food ideas for a bowl game party

Small party for the BCS Championship, 5-8 people.

Right now all I can think of is pigs in a blanket and some kind of dip(Buffalo chicken or a Queso) w/ chips.

Any ideas or recipes you'd like to share would be great. 🙂

Bacon-wrapped water chestnuts. Cheap, easy, and delicious, just like me.

KT

Tater tots (deep fry them)
Deep fried macaroni and cheese
Veggie tray with dip
Frozen pastry hors-d-vours - you get them in a box and they're pretty good.

Jalapeno poppers

Cut peppers in half, take all seeds out (unless you want em hot)
Fill with a mixture of cream cheese + shredded cheese
Wrap with half strips of bacon
Top with more shredded cheese
Bake in oven at 350 for 25-35 minutes

Takes a little bit of work to make em all, but damn tasty!

spicy crackers

you need the following:
1 box of saltines
1 gallon ziplock bag
1 cup canola oil
1 tblspoon of red pepper flakes (more or less to taste)
1 package of powdered ranch dressing (Hidden Valley is the best)

put saltines in bag
mix oil / powdered ranch and red pepper in bowl

pour contents of bowl on to the crackers in the bag seal the bag and let them soak for a while.

its best to do it the night before and just periodically (before bed, when you wake up) flip the bag so both sides of the crackers get coated.

Wings are easy. Do some buffalo and some BBQ.

A spinach dip in either sourdough or pumpernickel usually goes over well too.

If there are any fatties in your group, make sure to have 2-4 gallons of ranch dressing. Fatties put ranch on everything.
Helluva Good french onion dip is a suitable substitute. Fatty recommended and approved.

wings, fried cheese sticks, fried breaded strips of chicken breast (do it homemade; anything pre-breaded and frozen at the store sucks) bread sticks, celery & carrot sticks, crackers and cheese

2 slices of hard salami with a piece of cheese in-between.

fried in the frying pan at low heat, use lots of cheese so it bulges out the
side when you cut it.

let it cool a little before you cut it, then cut it into quarters.

no one ever got kicked out of bed for servin cheese & crackers either

i still loves me some classic staple cheese & craquelin

I second the Jalapeno poppers, I made ones just like the recipe TallBill posted and they were awesome.

Nuts!

No, seriously. Peanuts, cachews, honey roasted peanuts, walnuts, you get the drift. Fairly clean so the balls don't get greasy. 😛

Buy 5 pounds of wings, and cut them up if they aren't already.
Bake 'em at 425 for 1 hour*
Broil them for ~ 3 minutes on each side
Rid the wings of any excess grease by pat drying on paper towel
Melt a stick of butter in two cups of hot sauce (I use Franks)
Cover wings with said sauce
Let the wings sit for ~10 minutes in sauce
...
Om Nom Nom

*You can also deep fry them but they come out just as good baked without as much hassle for clean-up IMO.

Fixed
Sorry, couldn't resist. If you cook the poor wings at 425 for a hour and further broil the little buggers for another 3 minutes on a side, you'll have wing shaped briquettes. I think the calibration on your oven is SERIOUSLY off.

Off big time. 425* for an hour?? Geesh, you're cooking wings, not an entire bird. 350 for 30 minutes, coat with sauce and then a couple of minutes under the broiler to make em crispy. They'll be done.

Bacon steak roll ups

Cut a long thin narrow piece of steak so it is about the size of a piece of bacon.
Flatten steak so it is nice and thin.
Put steak on piece of bacon.
Cover with garlic and parmesan cheese and anything else that sounds good to you.
Roll up bacon and steak and put on a skewer.
Repeat many times.
Cook skewers over grill.
