Finding line out between head-unit and amp. Is this even possible?

2013 Ford Fusion

We're looking to add a 10" sub but the last time I used a LOC it sounded like crap. I'm thinking since the car has a factory amp it has to have a line level signal going from the head-unit and the amp.

Has anyone ever try going this route to add an amp?

The amp is in the trunk.

Not sure if you're trying to run an aftermarket amp or the stock amp with aftermarket sub but if you're going to run an aftermarket amp the piece of equipment I have linked is amazing. I installed my whole system in a couple of hours because I didn't have to spend the time installing a line out and turn on wire up by the stock headunit.
