Wow. This is SOOO funny because I was just thinking this the other day when searching at google...with their 'web', 'images', 'news' etc. tabs why not add a 'Friends' tab??

Friendster, IMHO, is definately the best 'matchmaking' site on the web...mainly because it doesn't feel so anonymous. Its built on the 'six degrees of separation' concept...you and your friends start building a network of contacts, so whenever you find someone in the network (mine is 650+ strong and I started with only 2 girls and a guy I know) you know exactly how they're connected. Best of all, its free with no ads!

Using Friendster was an oddly addicting experience. I don't know how the heck can I hooked on it.

Friendster does indeed rock but it has some major flaws:

1. They launched it too early. It is extremely slow, I think it has to do with the database/backend they use.

2. If you get a friend confirmation request, you cannot ignore it. You have to say yes or no (and have the person be pissed at you). There is no "cancel" or anything. Yes, you can ignore it but only by not clicking. It then is in bold red letters nagging you everyday.

3. UI is ugly.
