Hello, I doubt anyone will know it, but I will give it a try. I think this game was only black and white (?) it seemed like it's 3D somehow. (in a way that the view was not static) In this game, you piloted a strange plane/small spacecraft but mainly could only fly around some kind of a city (just some blocks I think) and this spacecraft could shoot white lines into an AI controlled another spacecraft/planes. The game started with you flying from a strange hangar in a wall (?) I played it many years before, so my memories can be inaccurate. Any ideas what this game is called?

When you say 3D do you mean you played from a 1st person perspective? My first random guesses are Elite (if 1st person) or Sopwith.

Driller?

I can also think of HardWar but that was quite advanced graphically, definitely not DOS.

Sounds a lot like Zaxxon or one its clones. If that's the case, you're probably better off getting a hold of just about any other version of the game. The PC port looks awful compare to the acade original. There's an official port of the arcade version available as a download for the Wii.

Unfortunately, it was none of these games: mercenary, star wars, Zaxxon, Space Station Oblivion, Line Wars 2, Elite, Sopwith.

I think the game I'm looking for is even older than all of these suggestions. And it was pretty simple, black and white like I said and allowed you to control a spacecraft/plane from 1st person perspective or second person perspective (can't remember for sure). And there were no health bars, no ammo count etc. It looked very simple and perhaps even experimental ;o

dont worry about it. even if you find it, you won't play more than 2 minutes from your description.

Yah. Sounds pretty awful.

Though, I'm still thinking Zaxxon or one it's clones. The original Zaxxon is from 1982, so it doesn't get much older.

There also weren't really any early black and white graphical PC games. The original monochrome graphics card (MDA) for the PC wasn't capable of bitmapped graphics, just text. Games were made for the CGA card instead, since it supported bitmapped graphics. It wasn't too uncommon however to hook up CGA cards to cheaper monochrome monitors however.

Raid Over Moscow? Wasn't in B&W but if you didn't have a color monitor it wouldn't have been in color. That's the closest I could come up with.

I am not into games but I got something like over 50 those older dos or windows 95 games here I like get rid of. non the ones these guys mention fits any I got. closes I got is flight simulater and it lets you be the poilet and take off and fly a plane as if it is real. theres so many take quite a while go threw to list them all. like sell them if any one care to have them. as I want keep the jewel cases as I need a few them for my back up disks. any one care to buy these as a package get back to me.

No Sales outside of the FS/FT section

Descent - maybe not black and white tho. Was a Doom 2/ Hexen generation game. Made me sick to my stomach.

OMG I loved that game as a wee lad! I think we had that on the ColecoVision and played it for hours upon hours. LOL but we still went outside and played :p

Found a video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sGIAKKsNylU man the sound effects alone bring back memories.
